BIODELEAR "Addressing Med fly with an innovative and environment friendly attractant through an Integrated Pest Management Strategy" is an ambitious project which foresees the development of an integrated pest management strategy (IPMS) for the sustainable management for the control of Med fly (Ceratitis capitata) in the absence of insecticides using the mass trapping technique with a novel attractant, non toxic for human and the environment and finally its application to intensively cultivated Mediterranean areas. The project also focuses on exploitation and valorization of the ecosystem indicators before and after the implementation of the IPMS. The aim is to recover the ecosystem through the measurement of various indicators as soil analysis, residues of insecticides on fruit, biological diversity on the soil as well on the canopy of the trees and finally % fruit infestation.
